A beluga whale discovered with a harness that seemed to be Russian made has raised the alert of Norwegian officials and prompted speculation that the animal may have escaped by a Russian military facility.
Joergen Ree Wiig of this Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries states”Equipment St. Petersburg” consists of the tap strap, which includes a bracket for an action camera.
He said Monday anglers at Arctic Norway a week reported the cetacean using a tight swimming about. A fisherman, helped by the Ree Wiig, jumped to eliminate the harness.
Norway’s Aftenposten daily reported that the Russian army is believed to have trained sea mammals.
